The Catallegro Project
The Catallegro series is a unique music project I created where I transform cat names into original songs using a custom alphabet-to-note crypto-key system. Even cats with the same name result in distinct tracks—each composed in a different key signature and built with unique instrumentation.
At the beginning of 2024, I invited my social media followers to send me their cats' names and photos. Using my Ableton Push, I created live performance videos that showcased the music-making process, and I later turned each cat’s name into a full-length instrumental track.
I’m proud to say that I’ve completed Catallegro I, the first album in the series. It features a collection of all the instrumental compositions with my vocals from this interactive project. You can now listen to Catallegro I on all streaming platforms and immerse yourself in this heartfelt fusion of music and feline identity.
The Milwaukee Synth Meet Presentation
I had the opportunity to present my Catallegro project live at the Milwaukee Synth Meet, and it was an exciting moment to share my creative process with a community of electronic music enthusiasts. Catallegro is a project where I turn cat names into fully produced songs using Ableton Live and Push, blending improvisation with storytelling and sound design. At the event,
I gave a live demonstration of how I build a track from scratch, starting with a name and shaping it into a unique sonic identity. It was rewarding to connect with others who appreciate experimental approaches to music, and the feedback I received helped reinforce the value of combining humor, creativity, and emotion in live performance.
